BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA......

I have had a enough of that white stuff for a while so I went out side looked to the west held up my hands, tried to remember what a older native American had told me. Don't know what I said but it has seemed to help. I feel sorry for you fellows in Minn. but I had to do what I had to do.

I read once that you can believe any thing you read on the Internet. I believe that was a quote from Abraham Lincoln.

Now if I could remember how to get it a little warmer not much but a little.

Wow....... I'm amazed. Mother Nature is always full of surprises. Yesterday was the first day of Spring Turkey here, was about as warm as I've ever experienced. Last snow was 10 days ago......
Looked at the weather channel this morning, saw All That Snow your gettin, and had to turn it off. Had the windows open all nite, and it was 59 at 7am today.
Keep yer chin up, most likely it will go from Blizzard to 80 when Spring decides to arrive.

Vince, the forecast calls for nice weekend on the "flats." See you saturday! Making the empanads tomorrow--Should be a fun day!

They are calling for possible 4 inches here tonight. First snow accumulation in this area in over 100 years.

Tom if you get 4 inches down there I am officially not all that bummed out by our weather. :) Most years you would be nearly a month ahead of us now.
The good thing is it only takes a couple hours for all of the snow to melt.

Tim

well it is not snowing only sleet, waiting for them to start the Royals game back up. They are ahead 1-0 with six outs to go to get a complete game in against the Rays.

I sure like those shots that you took in some miserable light. Nice work, Tim. Any Cooper's in the area?
Al

Phil,
I've had snow on top of my radishes, spinach and lettuce a couple times now. It sure isn't growing fast in this weather. The cabbage I put out on tuesday sure looked good today with the moisture.

Al,
Lots of big hawks have been flying over lately, even saw an osprey two days ago... I'm not very close to fish catching type of water.
I saw a pair of coopers flying over a few days ago. They must not be staying close by because with all the birds at the feeders I didn't see anything that made me believe they showed back up. During the winter there was one that would streak through and then sit on the deck. It would be a couple hours before the little birds would show back up.

There was a Sharp-shin pair (at least they looked smaller to me) that I think nested in the neighborhood last summer. Had a couple close calls with birds nearly running into me while they were being chased by those little heat seeking missiles.

Tim my salad veggies have all popped and have stagnated in growth for a month now. I am not worried one year I build a hoop house for them in the Fall. I got germination of lettuce and spinach mid November and then it got cold. The were covered with only a cheap painters clear drop of 2mm. They came up and stopped growing. We caught a week of sun and warmth in early Feb that year so I went out to look and the stuff was HUGE in there. Fresh salad greens in February were a nice change, those plants produced until May when they started to bolt quicker than we could eat the leaves.

We did get snow in May for the first time in 108 years in the KC area, still spitting snow today. Luckily I have four mallards that need some paint put on them today.

Some years we'd still have snow in the north country this late. Today, it was 80+ and DRHY--like mid-summer dry. A very little snow still on the highest peaks, but nothing in the woods.

We seem locked into this pattern--it's been clear and bright and 70+ for almost 2 weeks now. Send me some rain.

I know squirrels can be a nuisance to bird feeders but you got to give the cute little buggers credit for being persistant and creative in their efforts.

This morning I flew from London Ontario to Calgary in pretty much a straight line. We passed over Green Bay WI and Fargo ND to give you an idea of the path. I was surprised how much snow there was in MN and lots of frozen lakes everywhere.

I took the picture below of the northwest area of North Dakota.

Tom,
I'm going to have to mow in the next couple days too.

Paul,
That is cool. This coming saturday is the walleye opener in MN. I'm expecting there will be pictures of guys fishing on ice in the far north.

I'm going to plant some beans and put in a few tomatoes later this week. I think the warmth is here to stay this time... knock on wood.

Tim
