All,
As you can see, work is progressing and we are starting to fair. We got that aluminum strips screwed and 5200?d in place. We decided to install the screws every 4 inches on a zig-zag pattern since the aluminum is 1-1/2 inches wide. Good news is, the epoxy survived 3 yrs in the garage and is working like new. Bad news is, the tube of 5200 was still pliable on the nozzle end, but the plunger was stuck tight. Fortunately, they stock it at our local Home Depot.
Since we had not had a good wedge debate in a while, thought I?d ask if any other Cackler builders out there felt the need for wedges. If so, did your boat porpoise, and, how big were the wedges? I ended up putting them on my BB2, but would like to put them on the Cackler now (if needed) as it is so much easier at this stage and looking down at the work, rather than lying on your back dripping epoxy in your hair.
Take care!
