Can a Eagle lift an Eider?

My experience with those beasties was on the isles of shoals, back in the eighties. There is still a rig of my corks in New Hampshire. They were DELICIOUS--breasts only, though, with fat removed, seared rare.
Steve, when I get some time, I will scan some pics of the area.

A good WOK and waterfowl of any kind, make mighty good FOOD.

It is more often the hunter/cook that makes the meat unsavory than the bird.

That's a great capture...on both ends, by the camera lens and the eagle. I have never experienced eagles out on the salt, we do get some snowy owls from time to time but have never witnessed any interest in our birds. I do wonder about the seals though and diving cripples.

kool pic! I see plenty of bald eagles while hunting on long island. never saw them take ducks. we have more of problem with the seals taking our cripples. I even had a seal swimming alongside my dog after she retrieved a downed bird lol

good hunting!
