Can anyone recommend booties for the pooch ?

Hey Guys and Dani.I hope everyone had a great summer but it's over and time to get everything ready for hunting season LOL
Seems like my dogs get cut every year while training/hunting on the bay.Are booties the answer?
Looking for some input on using them for waterfowling on the marsh.

These are good booties - see link. I think they would do a lot in your situation. If the dogs were not running a lot, I'd size large to they can spread their toes to swim (have them baggy). I hve a batch of them that I've used with Pete since he really tears his feet up in the uplands. For the booties, they stay on well, but I'd put a couple wraps of vet wrap around the top to keep debris out. Any bootie in the cold I'd worry about circulation, so keep them loose-ish.

These days I use homemade booties with vet wrap and tape in the uplands - wrap the foot in vet wrap, rip a 10" piece of gorilla tape to go from top foot to over toes over heel and up back of leg, using shorter strips from pad over top and a couple strips around. That is what I use for Pete in the uplands. Tedious to put on, but they last all day, but I'd try the Cordura for your purpose.

I had the same thought, my dog had had surgery on 3 of 4 pads from debris in the marsh. I bought a pair and he couldn't swim well in them. I tried a different brnad/style and had the same problem. He walks fine in them but when he hits the water he had trouble swimming with them.

The debris in the marsh after Sandy was insane the last 2 years Matt.Splash has been cleaning up the marshes on the South Shore all summer.Almost 100,000 tons so far.
Gotta try something to avoid more cuts
 
My wife found some nice ones on ebay that were made for sled dogs. They came with two pairs. One was a felt like material only more durable but not water proof and the other was a nylon type material that were fairly water proof. They were held on with Velcro and were black to match him. They worked well on my dog though he wasn't a hunting dog. He was my best friend who died last December.
