My friend and I recently acquired a bunch of cedar from a company that went out of business. This wood has been air dried for over 20 years. We planed the beams on two surfaces. We are selling it for $3.00 per board foot.

The sizes are:
13 3/4" X 5 3/4"
9 3/4" X 3 1/2" to 3 3/4" thick. Some are over 14' long.
12" X 5 1/2"

We also has a bunch of 4" X 6" that we haven't planed yet.
I can email pics of the wood, or get into my friends shop to show the wood.

Also forgot to mention that I have some really nice old growth white pine that I have been milling up for head stock. This pine is $4 per board foot. Here is a pic of what the pine grain structure looks like.

I had to attend a funeral today in Rockton and had the occasion to meet Brian and view the wood that he has for sale----it's really of excellent quality. I did purchase some and really enjoyed spending some time with Brian and viewing some of his carving. Anyone in the need for some excellent carving wood I certaintly could recommend Brian's.

Of the cedar I have 9 3/4" X 3 1/2" to 3 3/4" left. I have more of the white pine than I will probably ever use in a lifetime.

Do you ever come over to Michigan or Northern Indian or Ohio to run any tests ? Just wondering if maybe we could meet somewhere if your running any hunt tests some place close. Interested in both white pine and cedar.

If my math is correct, 9.75" X 3.5" X 12" = 409.5 cu in = 2.84 bd ft/ lineal ft? Am I figuring ir correctly so I can know the price per lineal ft?

On the white pine, what dimensions do you have available?

I am planning on going to the St. Clair Flats Show in August over in Michigan.

In the example you gave 2.84 bd/ft at $3 per bd/ft would come to $8.52

I can re-saw the pine to any dimension. I have beams up to 8" X 8" but need to cut the heartwood out of them. So I can probably get up to about 4" thick by 8" wide.
 
Can you cut the white pine into 3" thick planks? If so, I'd want 10 lineal feet of 3" X 8" white pine and 24 lineal feet of the 9.75" X 3.5" white cedar. If the white pine can be cut into two, 5 foot planks for transport purposes, it would be great. Similarly, if the Cedar cold be cut into four, 6 foot planks it would help in the transport.

I can pick up sometime in the next month when going to Moline, Illinois to visit family.
