There is a good chance I will get to travel to Chesapeake, VA with the wife in December... She has to work and I will get to play... Do any of you recommend anyone in that area as a guide... I'd love to hunt some seaducks while there. Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

hey vic how ya been? Not familar with hunting that far down the bay, but maybe a little bit of a drive(couple hours not sure where he goes out of), but I highly recomend Jeff Coats at Pitboss Waterfowl. He may be filled, but heck of a nice guy and knows his sea duck hunting better than anyone. You would be also close to some brant hunting in VA and maryland and the outer bank's sounds are close as well. If I am still out here, your more than welcome in my boat but I don't do much sea duckin.

Thanks Bill, I've been baseballin'... thats about all that goes on around here these days... but I am lovin' it!! So I can't complain... I haven't done much research for this yet... though brant sounds good... as matter of fact any hunting while there sounds good... My wife hasn't got a final on the date that she has to report... I saw PittBoss's website and would love to hunt with them... I will havve to see how far of a drive i might be... Thanks again and if there is a way we might can hook up and hunt that would be great as well

I hunted with Stuarts Lodge in Currituck, NC last year and had a blast. I think it's too late to get a swan tag, but I could be wrong.

Shoot me a PM if you need some contact info, I've got to dig it out.

I've never hunted with him but I know Jeff has a really good reputation. I have hunted with Grayson Chesser a bunch and highly reccomend him. He works hard and has an awesome lodge. plus you cant beat the stories he tells.

Dude!
Also take a look at the top of the page. Scott Barmby, who's got a sticky about a Manitoba member's hunt, guides out of the southern western shore of MD. Almost to BillS and my places (I'm commuting between AL and MD for work and have a place in Chester).
Bill, what's this about 'if I'm still here'?

A couple of other NC guides that are within an hour to an hour and a half from Chesapeake are Frank Helms in Jarvisburg (try 252-491-8310), and Vic Berg (outerbankswaterfowl.com) who hunts some beautiful marsh and open water (for sea ducks) near Oregon Inlet. Have had enjoyable hunts with both these guides.
