Chessie Pups

These are my two favorite Chessies, Bear and Kelly. We are going to put them together for breeding the next time Kelly is in heat.

Bear is of our own breeding. His father was from an old Michigan line - his mother is from mostly Eastern Shore working stock. He is my soulmate and truly a person in a dog suit!

Kelly is from a very well-known Eastern Shore breeder. She was the breeder's pick pup, but family difficulties persuaded her to sell Kelly. Kelly is absolutely the sweetest little girl you ever met! In a previous breeding (to Bear's half-brother) Kelly produced my "avatar" dog Diesel, who is an AKC show champion and has two hunt titles.

Both Bear and Kelly have been AKC champions for years. While this isn't everything in a dog, it almost guarantees the soundness of muscle, bone, skeletal structure, and temperament These are dogs that are able physically to do their job and "stay together" for years. I have seen a lot of purely field-bred dogs that fall apart at an early age. They don't have the physical attributes to fully use all the drive that was bred into them.

We put this litter out for consideration way before the dogs are bred. This gives time for people who live near us to stop by and spend time with both parents. Buying a pup is a big step, and should never be a rash, snap decision.

If you are interested send us your email. We have reems of pictures of Bear and Kelly, also lots of hunting photos of Kelly's son Diesel.

Thanks,

Rich & Gail

beautiful dogs! Gotta think that there is some original "Native Shore" bloodline way back in the line... they are gorgeous!

I was really missing my old chess. Thanks for the pics. Bear looks alot like the Irish line from Mich. East side.
Regards.

Rich, those are great looking pups. Looks like you will do well when that next litter comes along.

Mike and Bballard. yes as to native shores, both dogs have some of that line in them. As to the irish line, my bears father was a Jala dog Kyle James line. Kyle started gary irish in chesapeakes. A few years back Gary told me,when he was young, Kyle taught him much of what he knows about chessies. Both Kyle, Gary and Garys wife Doreen are good friends . Thanks for looking, Rich

Nice looking chessies. Do you hunt upland with them besides waterfowl? It sticks in my mind that you have property and connections in the Dakotas so that is why I ask.
