Classic Barnegat 10' Mystery Boat Pictures

I wouldn't lower it a bit! Guys with size 13 and up have a hard time sitting in a boat with their feet splayed out and in a boat that size, storage is a premium. If you flatten it, it will have a sharp image when in open water. I think with a cockpit lip and a removeable motor mount and oarlocks...it would be a super useful little boat. I would even like to see the cockpit enlarged so I could fit the grandson in with me!

You win the cigar!! We were pressed for time and toying around with how to make the deck, and Dave and his dad came up with just using the hull. Keep in mind that this was several years ago when we had little boat building experience and were just trying to rig something up quickly.

Like I said, this is a VERY rough work in progress, and we're now toying around with the using a similar deck design, but lowering it 4-6" or so and flattening it somewhat.

Another idea we kicked around was basically offering a choice of 2 different decks, one flat like a sneakbox, one round similar to what it is. It wouldn't be that hard to do that, other than getting them both certified.

Thanks,
Kirk
