CMC power tilt question.

I have the cmc pt130. It is having some trouble lately. It will go up and down but very slowly. And I can rarely make it up or down without it cutting out. I have to let go of the switch and wait a couple seconds and start again.

Do you think it's a bad actuator or electrical?

Tom,
I'm not sure whether your system is sealed or has a reservoir but I had trouble with moisture in my system that was freezing during the cold temps and caused similar problems...Just my .02...

Does this unit use a hydraulic system? If so you may need to drain the fluid and replace it with a hydraulic fluid having a lower viscosity.

The unit is a sealed hydraulic unit. I have added oil to it in the past but never drained and replaced it. The unit is not completely inoperable, so I don't think I need a whole new actuator assembly. I may try draining and replacing. What level of viscosity should I try?

Tom,
If there is any milky/cloudly appearance to the material you drain out you may want to blow the lines clear with compressed air...I blew the lines, reloaded, drained again, blew them again then reloaded...So far no problems...
