Colby's 1st Jersey hunt

Poor guy. There were thousands of blackies and none came in. The bay area was flooded leaving very little land and way too much water. The birds were all around us with no reason to move. The weather was warm and sunny. Since there was'nt any dry land to be found my buddy Brian (first season hunting) had to sit on the bow. I took some pics of the decoys as well. There is a pic with Colby and one of my personally carved cedar mallards. Lee's decoy makes mine look like a mini. Hopefully he gets some action farther north...........................Best wishes, Kevin

Kevin we had the same problem Monday. There were not many birds, only blacks, and way to much water. The blacks that were there had too many other options. It was a disappointing hunt. Hopefully, Saturday will go better.

Kevin, very nice decoy and some cool pics! Your buddy Kevin must be a fan of those kayaks that you sit on top of instead of in. I believe they call them "wet boats".

Mike, My buddy does'nt have a boat yet and has been going with me this season. I've been putting him on the grass next to the boat where he sits on my reclining seat cusion covered with a fast grass panel. However today there was so much water that he had to sit on the bow or get soaked. I thought that this was a pretty funny pic. He looks like a sniper with that netting on his head. Funny Huh!
