CORRECT MOTOR FOR TRANSOM HEIGHT?

I have a BBSB 14ft and it has a 16" transom height.
Was wondering if anyone can tell me the correct outboard shaft length?

I'm looking at putting a 15hp on it, and, assume a short shaft is best?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Good hunting!

Bruce,

What "short shaft" is for one manufacturer is different for the next manufacturer. That said, a hull with a 16 inch transom would fall into the range typical for a "short shaft".

On the other hand, before drilling any holes for a permanent mount, do a few trial runs with your motor mounted at various heights. Sometimes a small change can make a big difference in the overall performance.
