Could it be...

...that, if the great decoy maker Duncan Ducharme made some ringneck decoys, they might have looked like this??? Working from the pattern of an actual Duncan Ducharme canvasback decoy, I modified the pattern to accomodate a ringneck. To my knowledge, I don't think Ducharme ever made a ringneck decoy...

As a carver, these are the kind of projects that keep me interested and fresh...

How about some bluewings? These decoys are going to Saskatchewan with me in September...

pat where do you get your decoy line? i love that look and i can never find a source of it for my own birds? Keep up the good work!

Thanks Sean! You're going to laugh at me but, the line on those teal decoys is waxed trout line from Walmart. It is very old and worn. My day to day line I get from Bob Metrich from Decoy Rigs. He has great nylon line. I generally get 1,000 or 500 foot rolls.

Take care and God bless! Pat

Pat Very nice , All I can muster to do in the 100 degree heat is paint a few new Cans for the fall, just some foam bodies and old Restle heads.

Thanks Fred! I appreciate the kind words. I'll do what I can bring a few Delta Marsh decoys out West this fall. Paint up your cans. Could be a good year for the silverbacks... pg

Great decoys pat! That hen ringer is my favorite of all four of them... not sure why but it just looks "right" to me. Like that drake bwing also.

Thanks Kyle! I appreciate the kind words. Part of my inspiration to do the ringnecks is, next to redheads, it was the second most diver duck we harvested. I love the way they fly. Last season, Paul and I killed our first ringnecks in Manitoba in September and, our last in Florida in January. Love blackjacks! Pat
