Damn What a Rack!
And lots of steaks, burger, jerky & sausage too!

You could support your kid's treehouse with that thing!!!!!!!! That is a once in a lifetime trophy and one hunt that will never be forgotten.
Your breast bone has got to be sore since your heart was beating out of your chest when that behemoth walked into range.
Well done!

So the "spider" bull from last year in Utah has a Canadian cousin it appears.

Good meat and good bones. Have to like that.

I don't know elk at all, but it is DAMN big. I bet if he had shot it with a bow it would be a record of some kind.

Anyone know if this one would be book?

Mike

is 385 so 425 is well over that. It will shrink some and likely lose additional points when officially scored but its still a whopper....

The current #1 Rocky Mtn. Elk is the "Spider Bull", (mentioned by Ray above), killed in Utah last year...that bull carries a final score of 478-5/8. That was 13" than the prevous World Record....

Super Elk no matter where he falls in the book....

Steve

Mike,

The Pope & Young record book for archery shows the minimum for a typical at 260 and the minimum for non-typical at 335.

Wasn't there a huge bull hanging in a gas station/bar/restaurant up on the corner of Hwy 10 and 269 in Ethelbert? When we were there two years ago it was still being talked about though the bull had been taken down by then. I can't remember exactly but I think it was at least an 8x9. Some really big elk up in that area in country that, to me, didn't look very elky. Unfortunately it's not open to non-residents or I'd head up there. By the way, I had my very first Pirogees in that restaurant - yummy. I miss the gravy on everything :)

Start looking for emails about a huge elk from Colorado.

Are you sure? Story I heard was------- Christmas tree farm in southern Iowa---- BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

christmas tree farm behind a high fence so the elk can only be booked by SCI.

Unlike the Spider Bull, this one probably didn't have a constant chaperone until the shooter arrived.

Lots of good precip this year produced lots of good feed and, consequently, lots of good bulls taken here in CO this season. But not THAT good! That's a beauty and a beast.
