The day started out fine.Good weather and not too hot at 1030hrs.

After leveling off at 2500 ft for some steep turns,I glanced over my back and was startled to see.....................

The Baron's Boys were closing in on me.I thought,OK Snoopy,ya gota do sum'n quick,so I firewalled the throttle and
went vertical into a cloud. As is slowed to almost stalling speed,I gaveit left full rudder, and did a modified hamerhead/chandel,
and came out heading in the opposite direction.Didn't see the Flying circus anymore, but I need to rig a couple of Hi-cap Bennelli autoloaders on the wings,
loaded with those miniature rocket shells ,with the fins that open up after they leave the muzzle. They have explosive heads and good range. What ya think??

That is really funny. I hope after the modified hammer head you put some power on or you may have been a sploch on the earth.

I had to chuckle at that Joe. I think your going to have to find a used A10 Fly out to Daves and give ground squirrels some hell. Oh yeah I forgot about the price of fuel. I probably get you some twenty MM shells but you would have to reload them.

LOL,Yeah,a 3/4 scale A-10 w/20 MM cannon instead of the 30MM they carry would be about right.Even the Mini gun in .308 would be cheaper ammo.I thought Av gas was high. You sould see what Jet-A is going for.I'ts a buck more ,just like diesel over auto gas.
Jim that Shyhawk builds airspeed fast, once you get the nose down.I better have him show me stalls and spins on the next flight.Inquiring (crazy) minds ,want to know;0)

Thanks Jeff.I've seen Jerry perform on many videos. He is about the fastest revolver shooter W/reload on the planet.I can do that 3x as slow, which is still plenty fast with that weapon.I like that auto shotgun.A while back there was a post with that same type of gun(round magazine) showing a projectile that had finns open ,when it left the barrel, and it had an explosive head. Now that would be cool mounted on a light aircraft.:o)

Yeah Baby. Two of thoes AA12s w/20 round rotary magazines, would make swiss cheese of that flight of The Baron's boys!(Slugs)

Did you ever find the U-tube with the missle shells?

Been done before minus the bennelli's. Check out "Wager With The Wind", he had (I think Win.) shotguns mounted under the wings of his Cub, the triggers were tripped with a solenoids out of a old car. The author was shooting at something better than the circus.. Wolves. Real men fly taildraggers.

Flying is fun, no matter in what or how, ain't it.

Bob

You're right.Flying is fun.Thoes hi-cap 12 ga with the explosive projectiles would be awsome inside 100 yards.

but make sure you connect the prop interrupter mechanism and test it on teh ground first....not in the air! If you are going to take on the Iron Cross Boys, stay close to the clouds!

Is that a new plane or does the instructor make you wax it before every take-off? 82 and taking flying lessons..............amazing!

Sorry for the short phone coversation today, but you caught me right when the dump truck was wanting to know where to dump the loadsa of fill dirt and the guy on the backhoe was asking me how I wanted the dirt spread by the FP. Plus Mac pulled up with the last truck load of pheasants and I had a realator with people wanting to look at the place all at teh same time.

The pen now has a total of 368 pheasants in it and looking good! I'll try to post some pic's shortly.

As I remember, those Lewis guns use to jam allot and impossible to clear.I'm going to go with the smoke rockets ,the L 19 Bird dog pilots used in Nam,only with explosive heads.
As the Krauts will call them,"Ear Splittin loudinbooming".Should be able to find a surplus rack that will fit that simular wing.Hell Dave there are many 80 somethings taking flight lessons.I'm just a kid.A retired Continental Capt in Florida, told me his neighbor is expecting delivery, and day, of a bran new Savage Cub.He's 84 and flew B36s, fifty years ago.One 96 year old flew his Ercoupe from NM to Nebraska for the annual fly in last year.Age is only a number.Ya got to ignore the pain or,in your case, medicate it.Good news is ,Wis boz doesn't need surgery. He'll be flying soon,in a WACO.Wow!
That 172 is 40 years old, with a recent paint job(?),and sits out all the time.the new paint is so much better, and no fading. The rest of the lessons will be cramed full of ,things to do,and avoid.
