Dave past away

I am sorry to post that Dave Hagerbaumer died this morning. A very sad day for me and many, many others. He certainly saw it all during his long life, and was the type of sportsman we all strive to be. In a way his passing was a blessing, as he has been totally out of touch for several months. Starting a few days ago he had to be fed, as couldn't do it himself. Our deep friendship goes back to the late 1960s, and I've never had a better friend outside my wife, Marge. We were able to do a lot together, but during the past couple of years we both wished we had gone through with a muskrat camp we discussed on Upper Klamath Lake. The plan was to set up camp, Dave agree to do the skinning, me the trapping. Then we planned fish and ducks for our camp meat. It would have been a classic. Best, Worth Mathewson

a loss of another decoy maker and visual artist. He will be missed by the community.
God bless Dave on his new life, and God bless you and his family.
Friends with longevity are sorely missed when they pass, but those of us who still live have the wonderful memories.

Dave's Hunting Again...

I'm sorry to hear of Dave's passing, Worth. Great guy, great writer, artist and hunter. I know we will all miss him, but not as much as you will.

I've often admired his flat art. He was an extremely accomplished artisan. Very sorry to learn of his passing. God bless his family.

Worth;

Sorry to hear of Mr Hagerbaumer's passing. He has left us with a huge legacy of artwork, beautifully carved decoys, manuscripts, as a long time supporter of waterfowling organizations, and the many stories of his adventures in the marsh.

Icon gets thrown around a lot these days...........but it's a perfect in Dave's case.

Sorry to hear of his passing. An old article in outdoor life about him and his hunting setup was influential on my gunning development trying to capture traditionial decoys and boats. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of your loss Worth, He was a superb artist and I really enjoy his work.

Stay strong as you can and remember the happy memories.

Best,

Todd
