Dear friends,

Rick ,

It does not matter if you have not been active here due to all you and your family have been going through, the nice thing about this site is anyone who posts here or used to post here is still part of the "family" . I really hope that you continue to check in through this tough time if nothing else it will give you a way to clear your head . Prayers are on there way from RI. !!!

Rick,

To me, its the scariest word you ever hear when its directed toward yourself or a family member.

It just seems full of dread.

But the truth is my friend, that we are living in the 21st century and for many, many years, very smart minds have been working on the solution day after day, 7 days a week.

When I got the word earlier this year, I was stunned...paralyzed and very afraid of what I didnt understand. But the docs knew what they were doing so I am still here stirring up trouble.

My heart goes out to you both for the anxiety and general discomfort that this situation causes but know that you have technology, friends and family on your side. We wish you both every comfort during the "waiting" and send best wishes and confidence in a full recovery. You are in our prayers.

Scott

Rick,
you and Laura are in my families prayers tonight. We are all pulling for you both.

Rick - This post is for you and Laura...

I am a breast cancer survivor. Yes, guys get breast cancer. I had it on 2002. I too had a bilateral mastectomy and by the grace of God, I survived.

As far as why, we'll never know. There is death and sickness in this world. There is no rhyme or reason to it. It just happens. It's not punishment or some logical answer. It just happens. Here is what my cancer taught me...
  • Life is short, love those around you everyday. Don't judge them, just love them...
  • We are not invinceable. Each one of us has a number of days left. Only the Good Lord knows each of our numbers.
  • It's not about how many days we have left but how we live each day.
  • Faith, if you don't have it, you better get it. There is more than this life. Get to know the God who loves us and created us.
  • Family, spent time with them.
  • Friends, go out for that cup of coffee you been meaning to have with your buddy...
  • It's not about you, it's about how much you can give and serve others.
  • Relationships, cherish them. If you don't have one with the Lord, get one...
  • Others, be other oriented. Get the light off yourself.
  • Prayer, pray for those in need. God loves hearing our prayers...
Rick, God has used my cancer to help others. I have a constant prayer list of cancer patients of which I will add Laura to. I will pray for her, you and your family during the difficult time. I hope someday she get's off my list in a good way...

It is a privilege to lift your family up in prayer. Have peace knowing the Lord is with Laura tomorrow. Here is a scripture verse a friend gave me during my cancer.

Deutoronomy 31:8 "The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged."

Godspeed tomorrow...

Rick and Laura we are thinking of you guys tonight and have for the last month when Steve H told us what was going on. You both are strong people and will continue to have stuggles, tough times and good times. Keep talking all the time and love each other each day like it is your last. You both will pull through this. Keep a positive attitude. As you know we have had things happen in our family before and in the end prayers, positive attitide and communications will get you through it.

We are praying for you both and keep us posted. Hank, Mary and Little Hank

My prayers for Laura and you. God will see you through these trying times. Both of you hang in there things will get better.

Rick.
You know that I'm not much for prayer, not wanting to bother the boss and all. This is one of those times that I think I need to go in front of the big guy and you know that both you and the Missus are getting my best. God speed and prayers that all goes successfully and easily for her.

Rick-

Good luck to you and Laura today. I will be keeping y'all in my thoughts and sending hopes for the very best...

Dani
