Decoy Bags ?

I ordered some bags from Diane last year before the season. It was a large order of eight or so 6 pocket bags for goose sized decoys. They arrived in under a week from when I ordered them, look great, and are extremely tough. I have dealt with Diane numerous times over the years and she has always been prompt, delivered quality bags, and stood behind her work. I will do business with Diane again.

Here are a couple of pictures of my bags to give you an idea of what they are like with all of the features. Here is what the inside looks like with sewn down pockets ans weight pouches. This is a 12 ouch bag right here, but the 6 pouch bag is the same.

My 6 pouch bag is 18"s deep, I'm not sure of width's but I think it is 5'X5', which is plenty big enough for magnum ducks. Here is a top view of the 6 pouch with one top zippered flap pulled over.

Here is the bag flipped over so that you can see what the mesh on the bottom looks like.

The only thing that I don't like about the 6 pouch bag is that the canvas is kind of floppy because it is 18"s deep vs. the 12"s on the 12 pouch that I have. The 12 pouch bag stays stiffer when you get a little mud mixed with the canvas and it makes it easier to get the decoys in, but if you are using magnums 12"s deep is not enough. These bags are 7 or 8 years old now and just as good as new, unless of course you like like clean decoy bags. There is not a stitch or seam that is stretched or pulling out, the zippers are excellent quality and even caked with mud will open or close. I'm sure other people make these just as good, but you are not going to find anything of better quality than what Diane makes.

Hi, I just skimmed thru this post, however I use Dianes, bags as well. I have the pockets sewn at the bottom as well as pockets for the decoy weights. Most of my bags are the canvas bags. I only gun cork birds and with the exception of some wear on the tails of the birds they all look like new. I have to admit I am not a fan of the cordura that anyone uses I think it is a little more abrasive than the canvas.

My wife solved my canvas bag problem. She got me a new Singer heavy duty sewing machine for Christmas. I'm now making my own custom bags and motor covers and they are exactly how I like them.

I have used Diane's bags but don't own either hers or Dave's myself. When I was measuring up my decoys and figuring the sizes and slots I would need and comparing the cost between the 2 makers I did like some of the size and slot combos of Dave's bags. How ever if you are looking to buy several bags Dave was charging $8.00 per bag S&H , regardless of how many bags you bought and if you could also get some of Diane's bags while they are on sale it was a considerable savings and you were still getting a quality product. I might not want or need to bag all my decoys at once but since I have over 100 cork and wood decoys shipping and total cost is a factor I need to consider.
