Decoy Pics

I love Bill's Blacks. They look just like a decoy should dont they?

They were actually the birds that inspired me to start carving and then
led to this website. Full circle Huh?

Geoff-
How about some pics of your smoothies. I love the lines and paint on your blocks.
Bill's blacks they are exactly what a working deeks looks like. I have always wanted to carve a black, but being in CA, never really got the motivation by seeing them here.

On my blocks? You sure your eyes are working right? Or do you have me confused with someone else?

Thank you if you are correct. I have a couple going out to people soon.
Will see if I can snap a few pics before they leave.

Might be thinking Geoff Vine, oh well, post yours up, any decoy someone carves themselves will look better than plastic any day. and what are the odds, two Geoffs 9with a G not a J) and a four letter last name. Its the asbestos i was exposed to in school as a kid,,, bwhahahaaha

Thats the second time in a couple of days that Geoff Vine and I have been
confused.
I've had a lot worse said about me for sure!
I will post up a couple, if you like Wassons you will like mine I think.

...any decoy someone carves themselves will look better than plastic any day...
Well they're not Bill's, but I floated 9 canvas geese this morning.

Zach-
Neat deeks, are they all yours? Your getting really good, time to send one down here to CA, or bring it down. So how about some pics of the boat, you get it out yet?
D-

chuck-
I really like the goose rig, that must have been a lot of work (and canvas) to have put together a canvas rig of that size.

Derek,

No sorry should have been more clear...Only the GE top left in the first picture is mine, Theres a couple of carvers work including George Williams, Alan Eastman, Brad Forgey, and my newest pair by Mali Vujanic.

I need to cut some more bodies out when I head back home, let me know what species ya want! I just towed the boat up about a week ago, and went out on a pleasure ride...it'll get use here pretty soon

Lovin' the geese Chuck! If any once saw these in person, they would be even more impressed. The picture doesnt do them justice.

A closer look of one I took a liking to. Made of crab pot float

Here is a real bad pic of a Jim Schmeidlin Scaup

The hen

ry%3D400

An oldsquaw I did a few years back. It ended up rigged, got sold, but I don't think this one ever got hunted. I carved a rig of a dozen of these and planned to hunt them in Alaska. They ended up scattered to the four winds.

A wood duck of mine. Hollow poplar with oil paints. Hunted and retired, he heard gunfire and tasted blood sold at a DU auction

A Dr Miles "duck" Pirnie Solid cedar scaup hen. This thing has seem some action. Has some lead sixes in her chest to prove it. I hate it when collectes remove the rigging from decoys.

Another hen scaup from a anoterh Michigan guy. Nick Purdo. Carved out of balsa. Best I can figure the head is cedar. I picked this one up at a yardsale for 15 bucks some years ago Its obviously seen some use!

Some more of my stuff-mallards this time. Once again, gone, but I know where most of them are, and Know that they are spending time under the gun

ry%3D400

One of my pintails. Currently serving proudly in Worth Matthewson's rig. Hope he's bring Worth some luck!

ry%3D400

Another Decoy I sent out to worth. Same as above!

Another teal. This one I dint carve, and I dont own it. Someone showed up for thursday night carving with it. Carved by Blair (yeah, that one) Timeless style!

I've got a lot more stuff to upload and will have some more pics one of these days

Derek, I really didn't think they were any more work than carving...once I got then hang of it they knock out pretty fast. I have 3 more bodies waiting for heads...one of these days.

Zach, nice spread. You got a closer pic of that pintail sleeper I see in the water shot? Whose is that?

Paul, you're too kind...they're just gunners.

Keep um comming guys!

Chuck
