Decoy shop pics

Kris, Yes they are Canvasback Y-Boards. I made the arms out of New Jersey Cedar and the decoy out of 1/4" plywood. Hinges are homemade from sheet metal. I have them rigged to a long line with full bodies at the ends to prevent digging into the water. Here is a pic:

Well... I am embarrassed to show how messy my shop it after seeing marvels others have shown
I am 28 birds left to flock, and I will be at 90.

I love that first pic, paint cans everywhere, lots of half finished projects, muzzle loader peaking out from behind the couch, pringle can on the back bench...I was staring at it like a "where's Waldo" picture....on the other hand, if you want to feel embarrassed , your photographic skill with these two pictures would be a great starting point...

Best

I will quote Joe Lincoln, " When the chips get too high, I splice longer legs onto my work bench." I am considering that advice.

I recall many years ago walking into Jimmy Bowden's shop when he lived in Chincoteague. Chips & dust were over the ankles, in some places mid calf and higher... That man can make some Decoys.

Mr. Lincoln is my favorite Old Master - that's a great quote.

My shop IS cluttered, but I do try to keep up with the wood chips and dust as best I can. Force of habit.

ChuckJ, what size band saw is that? Looks like it doesn't take up too much space. I have been reading hours of threads on saws here the past few days cause I need to pick one up.
What has me worried is buying a saw then having to track down a riser kit for it so I can cut up to 12" thick blocks. Do you do your birds in pieces? I was thinking about doing so but as an beginner I actually feel one solid block to shape would be less confusing. I do like how your saw isn't huge though, the ones I have been looking at are big and too costly right now.

That is actually Phil's picture I quoted in my reply.

Thanks Phil, that's what I was wondering.
I'm looking for a saw now but there pretty pricey and I think I want to be able to do big blocks on it to simplify things.
