decoy sled question

Excuse my ignorance, i have done a search for constructing decoy sleds, and while I began making them with 15 deg cut on the boards in between the silo's it struck me to ask why can't i just make the two boards the same size? What is the purpose of the angle?

You can do it straight, but angled looks better and stacks better, it is much harder to make angled, but worth it.

Andy~

As Tod said, they nest much more readily - and, they are a bit stronger because the fasteners through the silhouettes are going slightly (15 degrees) across the grain of the slat boards - rather than straight into end grain.

All the best,
