Hey Dickie,
For the $$$ GHG can't be beat. They look great, the form is correct, but yeah, they have some durability issues, and they are made in China.

All depends on what you want to spend. You could buy G&H - in my opinion the most durable dekes, but they aren't as realistic looking and they are way more $$$. Not sure if they are still made in the USA or not . . . I hope so.

For the species you mentioned, I'd go GHG in a heartbeat. G&H magnum mallards and all G&H divers are pretty darn good - especially if you can buy em used.

Gonna use em on your home turf, too, or just save em for SoDak? If you save em for SoDak hunting only, they should last for quite a while.

Take care,
NR

G&H decoys are made in Hennryetta, OK. At least they were when I visited their factory store a few years back. If they're like a lot of firms, some of their low-end stuff is outsourced to China while their flagship lines are still USA. Mine have held up nicely, however I'm trying to replace them all with wood.

I have all the decoys you mentioned in your post and have been hunting with GHG decoys for several years. They are the most realistic decoys on the market and you cant beat them for the price, plus their are lightweight!

Yes, there are some durability issues... definately buy some slotted decoy bags to store them in and even consider getting some fleece towels or something similar to wrap around the birds in the slotted bags to prevent paint wear. The more you take care of them, the longer they will last.

I have some GHG. I don't think the paint is any worse than previous main stream plastics. The original paint scheme is simply better. So when it starts to wear it is more noticeable. Also the plastic underneath should be made in the main paint color, not gray. When the old Flambeau's started to loose paint, it didn't matter. They already looked like crap with fresh paint.

I need to sell most of my plastic ducks. If you were closer we could make a deal. But shipping anything these days is not feasible.

I've got some GHG buffies. They have some spots where paint has chipped but no worse than I expected. Plus black & white is easy to fix.

I have G&H divers and gadwalls that are 8-10 years old that look almost new. My partner has some G&H mallards that are 15 years old and they look great. G&H has a much tougher paint job and, IMO, are worth the money.
