Thanks Phil. That helps. A 70 then should be about right. This will probably spark much debate but I'm partial to the 4 strokes. I just like the quietness. :)
 
No help here with that. I am always nervous about overpowered boats getting run fast at night on the way in or out and guys getting really hurt because of the speed.
But Todd, Andrew, and I think Neil, also have argued that the extra HP is a necessary tool to keep the bow up and blast over bigger waves in bad weather.
Cant say that is wrong, but have seen the other outcome in person enough to have a solid respect for what Too Fast can do.
Even if I love airing out a hull with a good power plant, like a rice rocket 2 wheeler.
 
I wish I had a little more power on mine.. not that I need it to keep the bow up... BUT I would enjoy more speed when conditions allow.... just cuz it is fun.

Bob B..the higher speed in the dark is controlled by the driver... stupid is as stupid does!
