Let's get this started with Thelma, the traveling teal:

Thelma was carved and donated to be one of our 2014-2015 Traveling Decoys by New Jersey carver and DHBP member Tom Barb. She is carved from Jersey Cedar and painted in oils. Though practically new when she started her journey, she definatly shows typical signs of a season of hard gunning. She is complete with signatures on her bottom of the members who hunted with her, and included is the journal detailing her journey.

We can start the bidding at $50, with a minimum raise of $5. You can bid by posting a reply here. Bidding goes from now until 9PM EDT Tuesday April 12th. Any questions, post a reply or send me a PM.

Thanks again to Tom for his donation and to all who bid on this piece of DHBP history.

Best
Chuck

And the Journal...this is where the full story is told...

Our little girl had quite the trip:

Met some new wooden friends:

Who helped her out a bit:

What a way to spend New Years day:

Not a usual sight for a teal deek:

Had some lazy times between flights:

But the really good parts of the story are in the details:

And she got to photobomb in on the Delta Decoy hunt with Pat Gregory, Hitch and Paul Wait:

Okay, I got a Nasty-Gram from a member today, making threats in relation to my trying to drum up some bidding on this auction...seems the cheapskate in question was thinking he would be able to slide in a barely noticed last minute bid this evening and get himself a steal on this deek...I'm not one to name names, so I'll just post this...

I wonder if the same masked marauder is responsible for the 'golden BB' that graced Thelma with this authentic battle damage...

To me such character marks only add to the value...but I'm weird...

This photo was featured in the November/December 2015 edition of Ducks Unlimited magazine, so you are bidding on a published decoy!

No Chuck that golden BB belongs to my son.

Psssh! Couldn't possibly been me...
Alright well maybe it was... However, I at least have the picture showing why she was shot.
If these guys wouldn't have cupped up in front of her, she may not have the battle scar!
