Dog crates

I stumbled on this website this morning while doing a little research on dog crates. Currently, I use a cheap Remington for transport. However, I've never really liked it nor have I felt like it would do much in the event of a collision. I have been considering the Gunner Kennel and the Ruff Tuff but haven't made a decision yet. I appreciate the 3rd party test as Gunner had done some testing on their own, but I am always hesitant of successful tests sponsored by the product.

Hopefully this helps someone else too.

hmm- sorry to see the issue with the RUFF TUFF brackets- I have a pair of them- I like them for the double door- to have access from inside in an emergency

i have always carried the dogs in a kennel as a safety concern

I did my own unscientific crash test about ten years ago - a guy in a Ford Exploder swerved into my lane hard on the brakes- according to the chip I had in the truck- I went from 75 to 0 in 6 seconds and totaled my Chevy Blazer. my dog was in a vari-kennel anchored with ratchet strap attached from the tie down rings on the floor to the vents in the kennel

the kennel stayed put, some minor deformation on a couple of the vents where the strap hooks were, the door popped open but the dog did not come out.
