Dogs-the good and the bad

It's been a long week at my house in regards to dogs. My wife's standard poodle, who was pregnant, suffered an intestinal blockage the end of last week. The surgery didn't go well and she did not recover. We lost her on Monday. My wife is devastated. The poodle was only 3 1/2 years old.

Last night my golden went into labor. She had 9 puppies in about 2 hours. I thought there was more puppies but after an hour and a half it appeared she was done. I checked puppies before heading to bed and realized there was 10. Don't know how she slipped number 10 by me. Got up this morning and checked to make sure everyone was doing OK and counted 11. Everyone is doing well so far.

We are so sorry for the loss of your wife's dog during surgery. What a blow. As for that good looking golden best of luck with those little tykes. It was good to hear that all are doing well.

Wow!, So sorry to hear Darin. That's a tough loss. My condolences to you and your family.

And then, your Golden Girl sure has a nice bunch of furballs. Congratulations!

What a mix of emotions, to say the least, not something I would want to experience.

losing any dog is a tough time - a young one with pup is a shock i cannot imagine

no way do you forget her, but I hope these little ones keep you busy enough and help you through the grief

please keep us up to date as they grow

Sorry for your loss, can only imagine how your wife is feeling. Hang in there and good luck with 11 puppies you will have your hands full.

Sorry to hear about the Poodle, losing a young dog has got to be rough.

Your Golden is a beautiful dog! Congrats on the litter. If it was April instead of September I'd be first in line for a pup. I just can't get a puppy during the school year as I live alone.
