Dogs yards and bugs

I recently moved and from an apartment to a home with a yard for the dog. The past few days I have found ticks. 2 on the dog and 1 on me after mowing the yard. Is there a spray I can use on the yard to help with ticks but that is safe for the dog. Thanks for the help.

Well, Pyrethrin (Permanone) will kill the ticks but it isn't good for your own skin or the dogs. When ticks are bad around here I spray my hunting clothes with the stuff and it's good for several washings - kills any tick that gets on my pants.

For your dog, get a flea and tick collar or use Frontline every couple of months. You might still find ticks on the dog but they will be pretty sick shortly after biting the dog. For you, have your wife do a tick check every night - warning - doing a tick check pretty much kills the mood .....especially if ticks are found.

There probably is something to spray on the yard, check with your garden center and then read the label carefully.

Make sure to use a good tick & flea treatment, we use Advantix Mult

Chris,

Have your girlfriend walk the dog and mow the yard. That should keep the ticks off you. :>) :>)

I wish. If she does that then I would get stuck cooking and cleaning. I will stick with the dog yard and ticks

Ticks have always ben bad around my house. Frontline (or simialr anti tick product for the dog) Spray your clothes with Permanone (cloths only) they will kill ticks for a few months.
