Dragon Boat plans?

I am looking for dragon boat plans. The really long boats where 20 people are paddling and one guy is beating a drum. Anybody know of plans?

Try Eric the Red.

Harry

They are actually Chinese. So Atilla the Hun would be an appropriate response.

I am in a service group and we may consider having Dragon Boat races for an event/fund raiser. Although one of them may actually be able to hold my flotilla of decoys and swans do have very long necks.

Andy,

Seriously checkout wood boat forum

There are several guys over there who have built them, raced them, and sponsored them. They are pretty much like this place, except all wooden boats are included.

You will need to register and all, but there are several guys who are big into this, their exact names escape me for the moment, but I know they can help too.

Not sure if there are many guys here who are into dragon boats.

Hope this helps.

I have got some leads from there already. Thanks. Just giving these guys a shot and maybe a laugh.

Hong kong boat festeval

I believe they are using fiberglass boat now.
The wood ones really look hard to build and can not be cheap.
Have you ever seen the detail and bending that needs to go into the planks.

When I was thinking about Dragon boats this is what I was thinking about. It would really be a project building one of these.

Here's a viking ship from my home town. They used to 'sail' it around the Narrows and harbor, but now it may leak too much. So they just trailer it in the parade. It must have been a huge undertaking with the lapstrake construction.
