This guy was carved for an upcoming auction at St. John's church. I donate one decoy a year. It's cedar with Jansen paint. I thought a little style might catch the bidder's eye.

Truth is I never really envisioned him with eyes. I don't think he'd look the same with 'em. I think the racy head looks better uninterupted. But you guys aren't the first to ask that question...I came up out of the shop after an hour of adding the fine detail hoping for a little positive reinforcment from the kids and wife. My little girl says "He don't got no eyes!" She doesn't like him. So much for artistic interpretation.

A lot of the old timey dekes didn't have eyes.....who made the Ruddy that's worth a mint??? Your woody wouldn't look right with eyes. I like it.
