Dreaming of new build already!

My 15' Cackler isn't even half done yet, and I'm already thinking about my next boat. Are any of you as fickle as I am? I truly am looking forward to hunting out of the Cackler, it's just so much fun building a boat that I'm looking forward to another project after this. I'm thinking about an ulta-light version of a Mallard or Bluebill. I could use it on some real shallow 1-3' deep marshy lakes that I hunt before freeze up, or I could tow it behind the Cackler as an extra blind when hunting our usual spots along the river.

I designed a small boat called "Teal", 10'X5' that meets those specks. Hope to build it this summer. PM me if you want the drawings.

John, My favorite boat name is "My next last boat". It is a dangerous bug but I wouldn't trade it, welcome to the insanity.

Jesse!

Welcome to the site my brother. It is good to see you here. I hope to get that "skybust" fella to get on that little hybrid boat this spring or summer and finish it. I won't be able to help him out until June due to work and kid stuff. I need my belt sander back some day though.

I have started my first hybrid. I stood in the garage today maybe 20 min. just thinking about what the next one will be like..... I have just started and looking into the FG.

What is a good temp to FG at? Outside temp...

John .

I knew you were going to get that bug!!! I did and i have been wanting to build another marsh/layout for a while now , but due to my schedule with work , a bussiness startup and whatnot time is just not available . Oh well the Cackler is a great choice for the type of hunting you will be doing . I love mine as you may have already figured out from our conversations , i could talk about all day . Good luck with the rest of it ! Pics ??

Mark, it depends on the product you are using. If you are doing the standard Hybrid build using MissedAgain's plans then you may have decided to use polyester resin and not epoxy resin. Poly resin will work OK for these "thow away" boats.

The container that the poly resin comes in will state what working temp to use. Most any temp above 60 will be OK, but read the container and confirm this. Humidity may have a bigger effect on cure time than temp will.
