DRN...but a great day in the islands...

Brain,

LOL....I've been told that before! Really though, thanks. Shear dumb luck but it was a day to remember just the same.

How's your season been up there. Do you have all the lakes under your belt yet?

WOW Ed, those are some GREAT DEER! Congrats to you and your friend. Looks like you should be eaten well for a while.

And congrats on the ringnecks. Had you stayed down here I've no doubt you'dve filled up your freezer with those birds. That's like the number 2 bird down here, next to teal. They are a pretty bird too.

Our 1st season split is nearly over and the season has not been great in my area of the state. Add to that the fact that I have had a full plate of obligations at home which has precluded me from truly getting out there this season.... Well, it sucks but that's life....

My old girl, Bella, is 13 (God bless her) and her hunting will now be limited to pheasant preserve clubs. She still has the willingness to go, just takes a lot longer for her to recover after each hunt. She and I never did make it to hunt ducks together on Lake Ontario... We have all the other Great Lakes (including St.Clair) "notched on the handle" though... A pretty cool feat that I would like to try again with another pup some day in the future.

Be safe and have a great season.

Brian F.
