Chip and I headed out from the house this morning on the Mule to go down and see how much water was flowing in the Rio Grande. I guess I must have just missed the two individuals that had been there where we pulled up because this is what it looked like at the river's edge.

I have tossed bumpers from this spot however never again knowing how lucky my dogs have been not to cut a pad on broken clays or beer bottles.
When I see things like this I often wonder what it must look like at their homes where they live. Where did we go wrong in our teachings?

I commenced to pick it all up which was not a big deal however it did impact me. It quickly reminded me of the time I walked into this spot in Alaska in 1967 on a Dall sheep hunt. As I approached this spot there was a small lake below me with sheer cliffs around. It was as if God and I were the only two there until I took a closer look. Some sheep hunters had built a camp there a few years past and when they were done, everything was left strewn about including tin cans, booze bottles, army sleeping bags and you name it. It was gosh awful. Well I commenced to bury it all and then cover that with a layer of rocks. It was down right embarrassing to think that a hunter/hunters would do that.
