Drying hickory

The tree crews dropped a bitternut in our yard. Before making firewood I ripped off a few pieces for future projects. They're sealed and stickered now. Just wondering if I should dry them as is or square them up on the table saw first? Want to minimize warping and checking.

Saw later. No need to remove wood you wish you hadn't after the drying process and associated movement ends.

Thanks everyone.

Jode: I've got them in two stacks with a couple tie plates on each stack. I'll add some more weight to it. Thanks!
