You'll find that filling in your location, providing detail on the types of water you'll be hunting, and your typical load (one/two hunters, dog, etc) will result in responses on this site. Not much to go on in your post....

Noah,

A few suggestions;

(a) fill in your profile.
(b) what type of water will you be using the boat on?
(c) how many hunters do you want to accommodate?
(d) how many decoys do you want to carry?
(e) how do you want to propel the boat?
(f) how do you want to transport the boat? truck box, car top, portage/portage dolly, trailer?

They all work under the right conditions, none work when used in conditions they were not designed for.

I imagine once you fill in your profile and provide the answers to the above set of questions, you may get some help. Untill then, there is little we can do for you that would be of any real help.

Make one that fits your answers to these questions.

Also need to know if you are a traditionalist or if plywood is OK? Brings up the hole cedar planking, and spoon hull vs flat hull thing.

i would be hunting on swampy, flooded backwater, any amount of hunters from 1-3, maybe 5 dozen decoys. i'd like a motor on the boat, like a 15 horse power, and on a trailer.

Well "sneak" boats are not really designed for three hunters since once large enough to hold three men they are no longer sneaky.

Flooded backwaters typically have a lot of debris in them so you might not want a traditional outboard, but only you will know how things look in your area.

"Swampy" areas with no open deep water are not for large sneak boats. Most sneak boats have a displacement hull so they need about 12 to 14 inches was clean water under their keel to work. Some designs do not displace much water but they only have room for one man and a dog.

I hunt with another guy about three times a year and the rest of the time just me and the pup so my BB3 is fine and when on my own it is too large sometimes. However, its displacement hull keeps me out of some nice spots once the water drops.

If you are wanting to build a boat for 3 people and a true swamp look at the Gator Duckhunter and a mud motor. Check out Toller Boat works and their forum for ideas to make the boat larger and work with a mud motor.

I'm going to have to agree, this sounds more like territory for a big wide high sided jon boat more than for sneakboat.

That said, one of the larger Devlin designs will work for 3 guys. But you will need something bigger than a 15, probably a 25-30 hp.
