Duck Stamp Postage

Am I the only one who thinks it's absurd that the USPS charges $1.25 "shipping and handling" to mail you the $15 Duck Stamp?
Then, when I recieved it, I understand why........it came in a large priority mail envelope, with a rather thick pamphlet of all their stamps for sale.
So, in effect, I'm paying for the USPS to advertise to myself!

Another example of a govt. agency, that seems to find out a way to rip you off.

I agree 100%. It's definitely easier for me to order one, but I'd rather go out of my way to buy it at the post office. It's the principle behind it.

I'll gladly pay a little extra for the convenience of sitting at my computer and buying a duck stamp....half of the Post Offices around my area don't even carry the Federal Duck Stamp.

not to mention I stood in line at two post offices near me, and they both said they would not be carrying duck stamps any longer. This is in probably the highest density area of waterfowlers in north america

Walked in asked "Can I get a waterfowl stamp?" Lady said "Yep." Walked out 30 seconds later with a "Thank you." I never complain about my small town post office.

I'm with Tim. Not only that, but a couple of years ago when my post office was out of them, the clerk said, "We're out, but they had them over in Winthrop this morning. Hold on a second and let me call to make sure they hold one for you."

Around here, if you need one at midnight on Christmas Eve, you can always get one at the hunting/fishing section at LL Bean.

I really look forward to going to the Post Office every year (since 1966) , to buy my new Duck Stamp. Especially now that I live a small town, and can walk to the PO. I still get that Good Feeling when the clerk hands me the stamp, and I check out the Art. It's all part of my waterfowling lifestyle, and supporting the PO, and all the veterans who work, and worked there.

We get a line on the computerized lic saying we paid for a state duck stamp. The post office usually doesn't have a federal stamp around here. I go to my local mom and pop bait shop and buy my federal stamp.

BTW my local PO is open 8:30am to 3:30pm and is closed from 11:30am to 1:00pm and I work from 7:00 to 3:30. I wish I could figure out how to work those hours and get paid for 40. Probably gearing up to dump them all into Obamacare. Make'em all part time employees and under 28hours per week to avoid the federal insurance requirement!
