East Coast roll call.....Check in when you can.

The more I read and watch...man what a mess!

Chris S.....really, sharks in the streets. I'd like to see one of those photos. WOW...

It's good to see so many being able to log on. Good luck with the recovery and keep safe. No telling how many down wires are still hot.

Fine here. Lost power for about 20 hrs. That was it. Barrier islands got hit pretty hard by me but farther north is really really bad. Luke

Lost power for 24 hrs but back now. No damage thankfully.

I have family in Cape May and Ocean City. Cape May came out OK Ocean City got crushed.

Made it back home today to find water up to my upper thigh!! Couches floated, refrigerator, everything. Saltwater and mud everywhere. My guns were soaked, pulled the recoil pads to drain water out of the synthetic stocks. My Sneakbox was pinned between my 21fter ( floated off dry dock) and my truck (ruined ). Neighbors boat, 3 houses down sitting in my yard still on trailer. Much more but too much to list. I would post pics if I new how from my phone

We made out fine at home, never even lost power which I still can't believe. The beach house in Fenwick Island may be a different story. It's still standing but we'll have to see how much water damage there is.

We rode the storm out here in RI. minimal damage to our home , a few branches down lost power for 8 hours but other than that i consider myself extremely lucky that is all that happend considering what happened just a few miles south , and in NY and NJ , prayers and thoughts with all of you !!!!!

I still can't get back home. The casinos in Atlantic City are still closed. Obama is coming to jersey to meet with Gov. Christie and see all the damage. Gov. Christie is doing a press Conference tonight at 7:30 after he meets with the president. I hope he says that we can get back into atlantic city so Stefanie and I can go home.

There are sewer leaks in Ocean City, NJ and people are told to boil water before drinking it. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Holy crap guys. Seems like everyone is in one piece, but many of my old duck-hunting stomping grounds have been hit hard. Hope everyone gets through the recovery well, including the marshes!

Glad to hear most are doing well. Glad I live on the north side of town. No flooding here. No power, phones, cable but we have water right now. Water dept says we may loose that tomorrow due to waste back up and damaged pipes. I lost some vinyl siding, roof on small barn, and some water damage to the ceiling in the room under where the siding is missing.
My big boat road the tidal surge out on It's trailer. I tied the boat to the trailer and set a few anchors out so it would not go to far. Plan worked. The boat floated with the trailer and settled back down only a few yards from where it started.
Our marina got slammed! We have big yachts piled up all over the neighborhood. Every building got blasted. Our fuel dock is just about gone. I'll post up some photos when I figure out how to do it from this phone. This is the first time I have been able to get a signal.
I can't imagine how south nj is looking if we are this bad. It's going to be a long road to recovery.
We were able to get a few boats out from our main entrance today and get into the marina a bit. It looks like a freakin war zone...
I hope we get some services up and running soon. Power company says may be at least two weeks till we see some power.
Best of luck to everyone else and be carefully out there.

I have a friend in Salem, NJ, havent been able to get in touch with him, he just bought a house and I do know that he has a small river in his back yard. anyone have any info on that area, thanks.

Glenn, we're right on the border of Salem and Gloucester county and we were very lucky. Very few trees down and we never lost power. I imagine Salem had a similar situation. Hopefully that river stayed under control.

Trees took down the wires to our house, but not before breaking the neutral wire so we got a big surge that cooked every piece of electronics in the house. Computers, TV's, air conditioners, refrigerators, ceiling fans, dimmer switches, everything fried even though it was turned off. Three surge protectors caught fire, if we weren't home to put them out the house would be gone. Fire department came to check for fire in the walls but we were lucky there. Not one power truck spotted since the storm anywhere in four towns I have been through.

We are on the coast and I can say for certain there are many, many homes here that will be condemned because of flooding/wave damage. I own a civil engineering company, we have been to some of our clients beachfront homes to check water levels, it appears the water was about a foot higher than last years storm. No sharks observed in the streets though.

Glenn, some area's of Salem and Pensgrove by the river were evacuated because of tidal flooding. My uncle had to leave his home in penns Grove. But not much damage other than that. Things should dry out in the area and be OK. I do know his phone service has been out since the storm. Proably the case with your friend too.

We are in great shape on Plum Island, MA. Blew like hell and the tide came up but about two feet short of the height of the tide a few years ago. Our camp on Woodbridge Island made it through ok too. Have not been out but looks good. My Mom's place in RI survived thank God. We are very lucky. Heading to SD with Skeeter and Mary to shoot ducks and pheasants. Can't wait.

That was one hell of a storm. Seaside Heights is trashed (Jersey Shore was cancelled anyway) Heard Point Pleasant is like gone. There are like 8+ houses (big ones) that are gone in Bay Head....just like disappeared. I have not had time to watch TV to assess the damage but all that I have been hearing is not good. Two boys were swept away from their mother's hand from a wave in Staten Island (I think) Still haven't found them. Morgue was filling up at the hospital last night.

Our house was spared. Just lost power and cable for two days. Luckily I had a generator. Had to take a COLD shower though. Haven't done that since the 90's and it still sucked. My brother didn't do so well. His house is trashed and lost both of his cars. Flooded up to the windows. One car was a brand new Accord with the temp tag still on it so it should be showing up real soon on a Auto Lenders lot. I feel bad for him....Only married 2 and a half months and they have to go through this.

Worse thing is trying to get gas. At least 70-80% of the stations by me are closed. 10% that have power have no gas and the other 10+% have long lines. Fortunately for me, I have a home/office and the hospital is 5 minutes from my house. I was able to go to WAWA and literally was in and out in 15 minutes. They had three people directing trafic and did and excellent job getting everyone in and out. Filled up my truck and 9 gallons of gas cans.

This has been a really horrible storm and my prayers go out to the families in need. The Jersey shore is forever changed. We are not allowed to go over the bridge...which is what everyone wants so we can really see the damage. I just feel so bad for my friends that have summer homes there and some that live there year round. They lost everything. I bet that there are a lot of nice old Crowell and Shrouds decoys bobbing around the Barnegat right now.
