Easy marsh blind for your BBSB

I just finished my marsh blind for my MLB Zack Taylor BBSB. I used rubber coated garden fencing and cut 4 panels. The 2 center panels have the center of the fencing notched out so it can be bent upward while the outside of the panel stay flat to the boat. I then zip tied on camo netting (the lighter the better) then zip tied on Cabela's raffia marsh grass. You certainly can use natural grasses but the raffia seems to hold up better throughout the season.
For transportation on the water the 4 panels stack nicely on the bow so you don't have to compromise cockpit space.

Nice way to do it.

Jim, I can't help but notice your 'kicker' motor mount. Tell us more about that adaptation. I've been toying with that idea for another boat/motor, with the thoughts that it would be clean and simple, AND allow me to drop the motor down farther while hunting and reduce ithe profile. Thanks.

Bill,
I bought the boat with the motor mount on it and, at first I wasn't sure I was going to like it but.........I REALLY LIKE IT. I took it out yesterday for a run and it is nice to have the multiple settings for varying depts of water and when it is stationary to get the motor down equal to or below the boat line profile.
Cabela's makes a nice stainless steel mount, a bit pricy ($189.00) but again in my humble opinion well worth it. As you can see from my pictures I have an extension pole for the throttle and I also have a detached 4 foot steel pole, I keep in the bottom of the boat that I use to switch from neutral/forward/reverse.

On a side note I do take off the motor when towing the boat on the trailer to help with the stress from the weight of the motor. The boat is rated for 5 hp but I have an 8 hp Yamaha on it. {-; It moves that boat like a skittish barn cat at the first pop of a packa' lit firecrackers!!!!!

Thanks Jim. I really like the idea of basically a cheap jack plate and motor-hider that it fills. I hadn't really thought about trailering issues, but it looks as if it could be raised up all the way, and use a normal transom saver to get the motor weight over the mount and keep it from moving? I'm actually considering this with a light 20hp or so, but it might be hard to deal with, w/o one of the more expensive, assisted lift mounts? For something with <10hp, it looks like the bees knees, though. Thanks again.

I'm having trouble picturing how you would put it together. Do you have any other pictures of the process?

I have a scull boat that I want to make some removable camo and I think this is the ticket.

Thanks,
Steve

I do something similar but in fast grass and 2 pieces. I like the raffia. One big piece covers the entire boat and then another to lay over me in the cockpit. Here are some pics
