electric feather

Bitten by the duck boat bug,I have lost all sense of rationality. Therefore I am asking if any one has experience with the Electric Feather out of Texas. I don't know if I will use it or just pass it along. However experience has taught me that it is much easier to find a new home for something that is useful rather than just cute. Does the feather qualify as useful. Merry Christmas, Mike

Pretty neat looking rig. Looks about as 'tall" as a KARA or other marsh boats out there.
I wonder why none of the boats in the ad don't have registration numbers on them???

Carl, alot of states don't require registration unless you have a motor mounted. My widgeon didn't need registration until i powered it,then if the motor is 5hp or greater that must have a seperate registration.Of course you can change it from one boat to another.Sail boats must be titled but not registered unless auxilary powered.Size restrictions as well.

Hello Pete, yes that is the boat. They are a flat bottom pan with I believe three lengthwise welts molded in. This boat is in great shape lights, motor, bilge all working. Hull is in great shape - color olive drab/marsh brown. Price seems a little steep $1000. Thanks Mike Regarding buy or build yes. I tend to obsessive behavior and accumulating a mongrel herd of duck boats is a recently emerged desire.

there was a regular poster here, Justin Eagle, who had a feather and LOVED IT.....he never tried to make the boat into more than it was but for his purposes, which was flooded timber without any vegetation, it was perfect.....definately not a boat for open water and would be totally useless in vegetation but if you want a small boat for "close" water, one guy and not too many decoys, and you'd rather have a motor than paddle, then it would work......

Can't help you on whether thats a good price or not but since a FatBoy, or a Pod or any of the other small opne man boats is going to be in the same price range then if the motor and boat are in good shape it doesn't sound like its "high", (at least to me)...

Steve
