epoxy question

so i finished up building and filling gaps in my boat that i am building from plywood and i would like to know if i should coat the entire boat in epoxy before i put down the first layer of cloth

That's what I did. Have to be carefull when you do it to makes sure the epoxy is the right thickness and consistency - not dripping off the sides. If you do this, I would recommend making it a two person job. You can quickly coat the entire area you would like to FG and you can lay the FG without wrinkles. Remember that you'll have to "push" the fiberglass cloth into the eposxy.

I asked for help on this in great detail during my Kara build, and received the necessary advice :) check out my old poists.

Brendan, I have done it both ways and find that putting the epoxy over the dry cloth is much, much easier. Pour the epoxy on to the cloth that is draped over the boat and use a roller to roll it out or even a squeegee. Doing it this way minimizes the tendency to float the cloth on the epoxy.
