Must be the Jersey shore!
Well I had a good hunt yesterday. I was going to complain about the cold, but after reading the snot-sickle post on that, I thought better. Went out late due to the tides, but it worked out OK. Had good water all day, and the birds were out.
Anyway, all the decoys were icicled up by the end of the day, and the boat spray --> ice pellets beat me up coming home.

I guess the only thing missing are the buffies. They stopped by when I was out for a walk. Two of them literally bombed in, landed 10 yds from the boat and flew off 2 seconds later! figures....

The bluebills are really flocked up - huge flocks up to 2-3,000 birds. Really nice to see them fly. These birds landed upstream and drifted down through my spread.

Dave,

That sure was a good one! It's nice when they work out that way. You definately had the right spot.

Hey Kevin,
I was banked up most of the day. I went out and floated around for a short while, but shot all these from the bank.
I really wish I had a couple of friends and a layout setup, would have been better shooting to be about 200 yds. off shore. Still great to see those big flocks go by.

An of course, the Brant were Brant, although they are getting wary (this means they don't fly back over you after you shoot at them!)
I made a rule to shoot only 1 oz loads at Brant.

Rutgers - yes we have another week on the ducks and then another couple weeks on Canadas and Snows. The late season is my favorite.
