Explosions at Boston Marathon

Very sad event. The video is horrible from there.
Hoping for the best for all those injured. I think they are saying 3 dead already.

Horrible turn of events for sure. Thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by this. I keep seeing the guy with what appears to have his legs blown out from under him. I heard a doctor say there have been amputations. And our government wants to disarm us! Go figure! I read where New York has put up the form on line to register your so called assault weapon. If I lived there and had a gun on their list I'd be waiting until the final day in hopes something changes between now and then. Unfortunately the courts upheld the requirement to show need fro a CCP in New York. That'll pretty much seal the deal here in Illinois that when they make the permit available here it will be a "May issue" which makes my class next week worthless unless I move to another state.
 
We seem to be living in a country governed by fear ... Now, after all the misinformation about "assault" rifles, we'll have more talk of "bombs." I happen to be a reloader ... does that make me a bomb maker?
 
Can't wait to see which freedoms and liberties we will be expected to give up in order to keep us safe from other events such as this one. None of you really believe our government "wasn't" behind this do you?

For those that reload often I imagine buy from one or two suppliers and have a track record. The casual reloader will most likely have problems at some point I'm afraid.

We're not pre-apocalyptic just yet. Please lets not start rumors or read something into this without a chance for an investigation or finding of evidence. Right now the perpetrator or perpetrators need to be found for the sake of those that lost their lives like that 8 year old little boy, his sister that lost her legs, the mother that will live with guilt the rest of her life as well as the hundreds of wounded!

I think you would have to look long and hard to find someone who opposes Obama's policies more then I do but even I can not fathom this coming out of the White House. There is a reason conspiracy theories are called theories, because they are never proven to be true.

This isn't a time to blame anyone because none of use know the who or how... I don't really care about the why. I'm all for getting to the bottom of this and getting justice, not revenge and rumor.

Good advice, Ed, and thanks ... Now, Fox News (my preferred source of information) is reporting that the bombs were "pressure cookers" loaded with ball bearings and nails. Now I've got to go hide ours -- those ol' pressure cookers are great for cooking squirrels ...
 
The part that gets me is Obama didn't wanna call it a terrorist attack until the investigation was done. What else do you call it. It wasn't a gas pipe that blew up. It was a bomb that someone put there and it caused terror. That is terrorism plain and simple.

The reason for that is what set of laws the perpetrator or perpetrators will be prosecuted under. If it is not terrorism then they will be prosecuted under criminal law. If it legally called terrorism other laws that were put in place by the Bush administration after 9-11

If it is called a criminal act the perp or perps will get a much harsher sentence then if called terrorist

So it is not as simple as it sounds . Obama as lawyer understands this.
