Facemask or not?

Amen. For the purposes of a good hide, for the purposes of preventing the spread of the pandemic, and for respecting others and protecting one's family and friends.
 
I teneded to use face paint, mask would fog my glasses.
These days, face mask anytime we leave the house to go to store or public space.

Although Old School in many ways, face masks are one of those "modern inventions" in the sport of waterfowling that I embrace wholeheartedly - along with fleece neck gaiters and neoprene waders (for the latter I like the flotation that comes along with the warmth). I always wear a 3/4 mask - found it easiest to use under gunning conditions and with a variety of headwear. I still need to make some modification to my masks, though, to accommodate the use of calls.



No question in my experience that faces and hands shine like beacons to approaching ducks and geese. If you are not in a shadow you will be spotted. I always wear fingerless gloves for the same reason.


My Hurricane Covid masks are in both of my vehicles for use whenever near others in public. I just added an "emergency" mask in each car's (and my wife's) glove box. I once found myself without a mask - so I slipped my eye patch from my right eye over my nose and lips - and draped a wipe over the patch. Sweet rig!

I don't wear glasses except sunglasses so this is a question out of curiosity. Could you rub the stuff on your lenses that is used by scuba divers to keep their masks from fogging up? Or does it leave a film that affects your vision?
 
Let's put it this way: If I were to forget it at home. I'd call it a day. I carry extras. Hunting these NJ black ducks, if you don't have one you might as well turn around.
