I never used fast grass and looking to use it for the first time on my boat. Theres many different brands. Who used what and liked it, or hated it. Looking for some opinions. Also some pics. Thanks

Sorry to hear that it was a waste. Thanks for the input. Thats one down. Someone said Knutsons Fast Grass was real good but never saw it, Thanks

Although I have tried Fast Grass I never really it. Color was too mono-tone and once youre away from cattails you stick out. I have used Killer Weed as the base layer on my sneak box and finishing layer on my Ghillie Style boat blind. Buy loads of zip ties and take your time while grassing. Holds up well if you store the boat inside or under cover.

The Killer wed is simply dyed raffia grass I see it for sale from time to time on CL for cheap but you need to paint or dye the plain raffia
.......
I than add switch grass which is replenished throughout the season as needed.

I have found the actual "fast grass" brand is by far the best, I have tried Avery, Hunters specialties cabelas ,, it's all junk compared to the Fast Grass brand

I agree with Fred I have had the "fast grass" brand on my boat for seven or eight season and holds up well. The knots and the weaving are much better than the others imo.

I ordered raffia hanks. Saved a lot of money and used rit dye to get the exact color I wanted. 4 years and still looking good.

I've had luck with fast grass as well. It can be cut without unraveling. It does stick out when you first get it. I have mine "weathering" on my fence since the end of last season to tone it down. By the start of this season it will be nice and darkened up.

Purchased some from Cabela's. I've had it in my boat for 2 years and it is still holding up. Key is to get it dry as soon as possible and keep it out of the weather when not in use.

I take mine off the boat make sure it is completely dry. I then roll it up and it hangs from hooks in my garage till I need it again the next duck season.

I have used several brands of fast grass and I don't like any of them. They are inflexible and too mono tone. I prefer Avery Killer Weed in the All Terrain color. It takes a lot time and zip ties, but it looks great.

I use what I like to call foreclosure grass go to a house that's foreclosed and the grass is super long easy to find around me cut the grass with hedge shears cut it at the base then zip tie it on. Its thin and flexible turns multiple color tans and the neighbors never seem to care that you are cutting the grass I will post pictures tomorrow. This was my solution to grassing my boat blind I'm sure it won't last as long as factory bought grass but it will work

I use raffia grass. This was a couple years ago, I got carried away and put twice as much as I needed on. It's thinned out quite a bit, I'm going to redo it this year. I used natural, olive and medium brown. I did not alter the color. This is before I trimmed it up.
