Started out with a nice west wind then the Bay but turned into a bath tub, and it got warm. I hunted in sweat pants, waders and a long sleeve t-shirt all day.

Few buffies were flying, the brown dog guarding the boat while I pick up a duck.

The predicted WNW wind turned into SW afternoon, here's the spread. Can & redhead dekes are off-picture to the left:

Ended the day with 5 buffies, didn't see any big divers. I have never before hunted this spot not killed at least one bluebill or redhead.
I've only killed 4 bluebills this season, the fewest for this late in the season since I started hunting Mobile Bay back in 1997.

"the brown dog guarding the boat while I pick up a duck"

Carl,
I couldn't help but laugh out load when I read that. Brown dog has you trained well...LOL

That's what you get for getting a BROWN dog Carl bwahahahahah

I'm hoping to get out for some more divers this weekend....got my ugly plastics almost all rigged up for longlines...

Post some more pics so I can at least see some bluebills on the computer!

yep, she has me trained very well.....
She actually got out of the boat with me and walked over to the first one I killed that morning. Lightly picked it up by a wing, then spit it out and looked back at me like "what the hell do you want me to do with this?". All this from a dog that will fetch a bird in the backyard all day long.

Its another blind. I could have set up in it but I wanted to be in a little deeper water if the tide dropped out.
But then then the wind dies and the tide didn't really drop, then came in about a foot before I left, so I could have set up as shallow as I could have pulled the boat.

Its not too hard to figure out, just look for all the blinds that got built before opening day!

Carl
You've got it wrong, you guard the boat and the dog gets the duck :-). Great shots of your set up. Are those blinds (2 groups of grass) in the back ground?
