finally got him back

last year the first shot/duck happened to be my first banded bird. so my graduation present from my mom was to get the bird taxidermied. so after almost a year of waiting i got my black back. here is a before and after.

and just for those guys who's got yuppie girlfriends, my girlfriend was there in the blind (a nice drizzly october day) and worked her dog to make a beautiful retrieve on the black.

stef im going to make a whole rig of buffies, im also going to make my first wooden bird in the process. i cant wait to hunt some butterballs. without them it would have been a slow season (plus they taste pretty good)

Many novice incarving it the problem, dont have a good drawing . How you want to make a good duck if you dont have a good Drawing. Godin book have the best about it , it always a reference book. Show use the final result ..

On my side i never make a true hunting decoys, (ok maybe 2-3 in 30y ) , but brother yes , and each time it special to hunt with ..

i know im lucky, very lucky. last night i was talking about the log cabin i have been dreaming about since i was a kid. i was showing her plans and how i wanted them changed.

which included a pull through garage for the fishing boat, a large steel building so as to keep the decoys and boats organized and out of the weather, a carving room in the basement, a walk in guns safe and she didnt even roll her eyes

i guess i have already won the lottery

Pete its all give and take, give and take. i was sincerely scared for my life. the buffy head is comming long nicely but the bill is hard to carve.

Tod she graduated a semester early and is going back in august to get a nursing certificate to become a RN. then i think she may go back to be anestesia certified, so i pretty much hit the lottery...
