First duck

Had great day yesterday taking my 14 year old grandson Glenn on his first duck hunt. We went to Holland Point on the P-tank, one of my favorite spots. Glenn helped set the decoys and really got himself involved in the whole experience. We had to bust ice till we were half way across the river, a first for the new boat. Ther were a few buffleheads in the decoys befor shooting time that really got his blood pumping! He missed his first hen around 7:30 then we both missed the geese. Long about 8:00 he turned to me and said,"This is fun!" About 15 minutes later I saw a drake bufflehead comming straight in. "Glenn, here he comes!" The little guy dusted him nicely, the look on his face was both joy and surprise and I was as happy as he was. I will admit I had anticapteded sucess and had picked up a Cpt Harry Jobes bufflehead drake which I presented to him back at the launch.

Howard,
What a great way to stay young. You had to be so proud to watch all of that. Congrats to the both of you. A new waterfowler is born! I'll bet it was fun to watch Glenn's facial expression especially when he said, "This is fun!"
