First Duck!

Other than all the smiles, I really like the "that hurt, can I shoot it again?" part!

Thank you Carl. I'll be honest, that part made me smile as much as the rest too. I had visions of him tearing up after shooting and going inside to non-hunting/shooting mom to dash the weekend plans!

Congratulations Cole!!! That's awesome! We look forward to stories about many more duck adventures with you and your dad in the coming years!

Cole says "Thank you" He likes me to check in and see if "anyone else said anything about his picture" lol

Good morning, Brad~

Great tale - took me right back to my Mossberg bolt-action .410 and my first duck.

Congratulations to the whole crew!

SJS

Thank you Steve and glad you enjoyed the story. Looks like one of these little super bantams is on the purchase list until he can hoist the little 20 I have for him.

The smiles say it all Brad great job hope you have many years of hunting together. Numbers of duck are good but great experience trumps volume every time.

Thank you Shawn, and you are 100% spot on. I've had some super memorable hunts that ended in well less than limits of birds!

What a wonderful heart warming story. Thanks so much Brad for taking the time to write this.
Cole, congratulations on your very first bird. That hen mallard is a beauty.
It has to be exciting to think of the years to come for you two to be able to hunt together.
Al

Thank you Al. I often hop on DB.net and do a quick scan when time is tight but always manage to click on your posts as I know the tale and photography will be well worth it. Regardless, you are correct, we're already talking youth turkey day! Cole sends his thanks as well!

Congrats Cole!!!!!!!! Well done!!!

The smiles in the pictures cover it all Brad!!! A proud Poppa and son.

Thanks Mike. Do you recognize the bibs Cole is wearing? They've worked out great and I'll be sure to pass them on to another youth once he has outgrown them!

Brad

ps - thanks for keeping me posted on any duck boat finds :)

I had to come back and read this again! I have a 5 yr old boy who is way to big for his age... I'm hoping he keeps it up and he can go on the youth hunt with me next year, ha.

Thanks Kyle. I have read it over and over several times myself just to relive it!
