First Hunt of the season

After a long semester, it was time to hit the marsh. Winds were blowing but nothing was keeping us from going out. And it was well worth it. Started the morning off with a beautiful mallard, limited out on brant, and got 2 gadwall. (trying to figure out how to post pictures)

At least to me it looks like two "Hollywoods" in your picture.
Could be wrong maybe someone else can help.

Looks like spoonies.

Yup, looks like a California pair of Northern Shovelers (Spoonies, Hollywoods, etc)

Adult female and immature Northern Shoveler distantly resemble females and immatures of other duck species, but are easily distinguished by their very long bills

versus Gadwall

Gadwall seem to often be misidentified too...either you shoot them and think they are something else, or shoot something else and think it is them.
