First phase Florida...

Shah and I found a nice hole in the open marsh. We got there at 0215 on opening day and much to my surprise it was occupied by some kids. It just goes to show you're never too old to learn something. But they were good shots and must have not cared about the snipe, so they were gone by 0700. I still had three birds left and filled their spot when they were gone. From there-in it was my spot for the rest of the first phase days I hunted. It was loaded with food and drying out quick. Limits each day were easy, and once I was done with the ducks I pulled out the camera with the gun still loaded. Snipe would give me enough warning on their way in...enough to put down the camera and shoot a few snipe each day Shah and I both love the snipe and we love the shorebirds too, although you can only shoot most of them with the camera.
Here are a few of the good ol'boy having fun...never done.

The Lesser Sandpipers were thick. I had to be thoughtfull not to shoot any of them while on the Teal. I have tried hard to get good photos of these playful little guys, but they are so hard to photo because of their fast speed and small size...only 3 inches from bill to tail...and faster than the Teal.

You are right about the young guys.
Glad you were able to get in and get some photos and snipe.
That look on your dog tells it all.

Hitch! Great photo's and great hunt. Thanks for taking us along. I can only imagine how hard it would be to get that shot of the snipe flying by.
