Fishing for Fowling

I am interested in trading a fishing trip for a duck trip - here are the details. I run a boat out of N E MA and do fairly well bottom fishing for cod and haddock in the spring (may/june) and cod at times through the summer to October. I fish the offshore ledges of Jeffries, Tillies and Stellwagon and have a 21 ft walk around aquasport - Kemo Sabe. I have all the tackle and prefer jigging to bait fishing. In the 90s I ran a weekend charter operation and have a fair amount of experience to insure a safe fun day on the water with hopefully a cooler full of fillets for the trip home. Because I want to provide every chance for success - I need people who can be flexible regarding the timing and probably not more than 4 hours distant to insure no one makes a trip out here and then can't get out due to weather etc. I often fish areas frequented by whales which are fun to see and photograph as well.

In return - I would like to get to hunt ducks in a different area and prefer puddlers over divers. I have a BBSB that I can tow to your location, if helpful. I enjoy ducks over decoys and good dog work, although I do not have a retriever at this time. Also, I would prefer a late season hunt as I am tuna wishing during much of October but I can be flexible. Weekends are best for me but I can also get away during the week with some notice.

I would be fun to meet other DBDN members who are in New England or elsewhere within a reasonable distance. I would offer to trade hunts but our deal is mostly black ducks and the limit is 1 bird.

Dick,

You are always welcome to come with us in the Bay here... A RI hunting license isn't "too" costly... and the hunting is open on Sundays... Dave did well on the brant this year... I only hunted once due to a heavy work schedule, but I hope that'll change next season.

You can stay at my house the night before, etc...Let's chat in October.
