Another trip out to the marsh with the bike and tube. The birds weren't flying like yesterday and i'm happy that the zoo wasn't present like yesterday. I saw a good number and a great variety of birds. Today the Fulvous wouldn't cooperate but the blackbellies did...also had a first today....first pintail shot in the US! Though it wasn't a purdy drake like I was looking for. I was still excited! She sure is a purdy bird.

Anyway, I am sore, but elated that my plans worked out for me this weekend. Not too bad for hunting and seeing a new to me WMA for the first time.

Looks like your off to a good start. I hope the rest of the season pays off as well.

So how come when I think of you hunting in that tube in the Florada swamps, all I keep hearing is "Shoot Lizbeth, Shoot" or "That's a tree shaker fo sho". I can't believe you float around with the chance of something prehistoric stalking you and that doesn't include the variety of snakes. You are a heck of a lot braver than me.
 
hahahahah it is creepy to me floating across a ditch I can't touch bottom on, kicking my legs to propel me, knowing there could be a ginormous lizard down there....waiting...buuuuuuuuuut I gots to go where the ducks are...

Congratulations, Dani. That is a wonderful hunt. Like Trip said, you are much braver. There is no way I could do that with the alligators and 15 foot boa constrictors. Sure was nice to hear you shot your first pintail. Keep it up.

One of these years me & the boy are gonna bug you FL folks for a whistling duck hunt!
